Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

I've run into a problem while making my wood body cart. I put a 2 X 12 along side my 4WD frame and marked the centers and respective distances from the floor of all 5 body mount locations. Comparing them to my 2WD frame and body there is a difference with the two mount locations under the plywood floor.

Can someone measure these areas for me? What I need is the distance between the last two body mounts under the plywood floor. I need the distances for both a 2WD truck and a 4WD truck. My measuring had them being different by about 10 inches.

Thanks

Paul

Re: Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

I measured things today again and found what I hoped I wouldn't. The rear two body mounts on a 2WD are in a different place from the 4WD!

Front to back:
2WD 0, 39, 72, 106 and 131 inches
4WD 0, 39, 72, 128 and 145 inches

Re: Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

Can someone with a 4WD Suburban get a couple measurements for me? I need the thickness or top to bottom measurement of the metal mounting brackets that bolt to the plywood floor that are for the two rear body to frame mounts

Re: Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

The very rear sill plate is 3 1/2" deep.

The crossmember, with the evap lines, above the rear tire is 1 7/16" deep

And the one above the front spring hanger is 2 3/4"

This does not include the thickness of the metal at the top. I measured with a tape from the bottom (top)-bottom of the bracket.

Re: Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

Thanks you are a life saver!

Hopefully my brackets will work after I relocate them so I don't have to fab something up

Re: Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

Nope, I'll have to fabricate something. My rear most one is 2 1/4" deep and the next one is 1" For my cart I'll just build up the wooden braces to make up the difference.

Thanks again Dave

Re: Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

Guys someone has to help me out here. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong with my figuring on frame mounts. None of my measurements are working out. Dave's pictures got me thinking about frame/body mount locations. Looking at pictures of repairing my frame shows that all the mounts should be in the exact same locations because I used the rear frame horns from my 2WD truck to repair my 4WD frame. This picture shows that the locations are in the exact same spot 2WD and 4WD. What the heck am I doing wrong here?

Re: Suburban Bodies 2WD vs 4WD

Geeze I'm such a moron. Figured it out after I re read Dave's post. The rear most mount is the rear door sill! AHHHHHHHHH
