What application is the best to get 3 point seat belts out of?

I'm guessing something in the 88 to early 90's model ones that don't adjust and just screw in.

Any other ones?

I'm looking for 3 of them for my burb.

99- Suburban seats have seat belts in them. I used front buckets w/seat belts up front. Front buckets w/slides removed for second row and a 3rd seat for 3rd row. All out of 2003 Suburban. I have a good second row out of 03 that I decided not to use because the 2nd row does not have seat belts.

I'm running three bench seats. I'm not using the seats with the integrated seatbelts in them.

I used Retro-belt. These are brand new generic units and work great. There are ebay vendors that sell these way less than list cost. I paid about $65 each for mine which is barely over junkyard prices for brand new units with no damage.

They come with the 7/16" fine thread stud that fits in the b-pillar socket.

Re: What application is the best to get 3 point seat belts out of?

I have read a few times here on the forum that S-10 and the late model Blazers have the best 3 point seat belt systems for retrofit into our old trucks.

For the front, I'm using the front belts from a '95-'99 Suburban/Blazer - non-integrated and bolts to the factory mount on the B-pillar. Figuring out what to do about the 2nd row...

Re: What application is the best to get 3 point seat belts out of?

I found a local guy on craigslist that's got a pair of gray seatbelts out of a 92 chevy truck. Couldn't pass $10. Still need to find one more driver's side.

for the rear seat belt on the second row passenger side I'm going to use one of these. It will be my 2 year old's permanent seat. I used one of these in my old blazer for my oldest daughter when she was younger.

Re: What application is the best to get 3 point seat belts out of?

I found some that will work great this weekend. Came out of the second row on an 89 Suburban. Also looked at an 86 but it only had lap belts in the second row. Don't know what year the change was made for certain but at least 89-91 Suburbans for sure have shoulder belts in the second row.

The base is flat and not angled like the front retractor setup is on the square body trucks & Suburbans so it should mount a whole lot easier to the 67-72 floors. The T-50 torx base mount bolt is a pain to remove. Next time I will just drill them out rather than fight with them. I will use the older style hex bolts when I put them in.

Haven't tried the bolt at the shoulder mount yet. Don't know if is the same thread as the 67-72 cab or not.

I'm going to use them for both the front and second row seats in my 67 Suburban.

Re: What application is the best to get 3 point seat belts out of?

Ive always thought the middle seat shoulder belts out of an astro van might be adaptable to a a burb.

I was watching a movie today (Michael with Travolta) and they were in some sort of later model 4 door sedan. I noticed the rear seat had shoulder belts that came out of the top of the seat. But not in an ugly way like some of the late model front seats that have them built in. I wonder if something like that could be adapted to the burb rear seats?

Just tossing it out there =)
