I found a huge article on here about a year ago, indipendent testing showing that that crap does more damage than good in an engine.
Give it to a Honda racer guy.

So is there anything that works like slick 50 without the buildup?

How about manual transmission additives like slick 50 or Lucas stuff?

I think the best thing is to just change your oil often. Darren

I wish I still had the link...it was snake oil or something like that...on a Ford Ranger site.
I will put additives like that in a tranny, but not a motor.
I saw slick 50 put in a dodge tranny (sutomatic) that slipped more than drove. After 2 day sof slipin and sliding, the stuff started to work, and it felt like a new tranny.
I won't put any of that in a motor though.

I use Use the lucas additives in my turbo 350 and 350 engine. The oil additive really quiets the engine. The tranny stuff made my tranny work like new and its worked fine for 6 months.
