new gun for Christmas

I'm thinking of purchasing a new paint gun for Christmas. Tired of the Harbor Frieght stuff.
Was thinking about an Iwata, but not sure where to begin.

HVLP of course

I want something that atomizes well

would like a gun with the bags so you can shoot upside down

Any suggestions much appreciated.
Thanks

Re: new gun for Christmas

I have an iwata lph400 for clear coat. love this gun. can lay clear down like glass.

I have a sata 5000 for base coat. probably overkill for most.

I am a huge fan of using 2 separate guns, 1 for base and 1 for clear. I also believe you get what you pay for with spray guns.

if you want to spray upside down, just get a the pps cup adaptor for whatever gun you choose. I don't use it and I have no issues painting roofs insides cabs, but I know many guns love the cup system

Re: new gun for Christmas

I have a SATA 4000 rp for clear and a 2000 hvlp digital for base. If i were to buy one new gun for shooting both base and clear it would probably be a GFG 670 Devilbiss. It's the best price for a "pro" gun on the market and it comes with multiple fluid nozzle sizes.

Re: new gun for Christmas

I bought thru my local PPG Paint supplier. Coulda maybe got cheaper on eBay but figured if I ever need rebuild parts I’d go thru them

I also have a devilbiss GTI. Older model but was one of the best a few years ago. It’s ok and I can Paint ok with it. Best way to explain it. I Paint a car with the devilbiss- looks good let’s sand and buff. I Paint and clear with the iwata- hmm I could almost not even sand this it’s so smooth
