small rust holes in front lip of hood
Hey guys. My 66 has some rust holes in the front lip, all in areas where the metal is 2 layers thick. I was wondering if it'd be ok to wire wheel it as best I can, then try to weld up the area. Should I turn my settings down to try to minimiz blow through? My expeience with welding in rusty areas has led to holes getting bigger and blowing through. Most of these holes have been smaller than half an eraser on a pencil diameter wise. The biggest is maybe that big. I may only have rear access to 1 of them (the biggest)

Re: small rust holes in front lip of hood
Turn the heat down ever so slightly and weld'em up I do it all of the time. Just be pateint because the holes will get bigger. That is the metal that is rusty that you think is good. Take your time and make it work.
