Need advice on rebuilt 4L60e tranny, can you decipher this?

I recently picked up a 93 Blazer Sport (read about that here), and I'm in need of a new tranny. Since I've learned that this truck should be a keeper, instead of the pick-n-pull route I decided to hunt down a rebuilt tranny. Here is what I'm being told about one:

"Fully rebuildt and upgraded with hd parts for pulling..

Rebuild consists of:

Vette servo
Kevlar band
Beast shell
13 vane pump kit with hd ring and slide
.500 boost valve
Trans go shift improver for better hold and shifts
Red eagle clutch kit with added clutches
Kolene slotted steels
All new bushings, bearings and washers
All new rings, seals and gaskets
New filter
Valves pulled and cleaned
All solenoids replaced
Force motor boosted

Add $160 for a new hd convertor...lifetime warranty"

All that is French to me, havent a clue what any of it means except HD...figured it would be cool to having a High Definition transmission.

I kid, I ASSume it means Heavy Duty. Anyway I'm being told all that can be had for $700...or $100 more than I paid for the truck What say you?

You can check this site for a comparison on the rebuild parts. I'd say you are getting a good deal if there is a warranty.

Don't know if this helps, but the last time I had a 700R4/4L60 rebuilt (in an '89 xcab p/u) it cost me $765 and didn't come with any of that upgraded stuff you listed. It was only a stock rebuild probably using the cheapest parts that transmission shop could find. Sounds like a good deal.

Also, that Blazer you scored is sharp!

Vette servo and beast sun shell are definately good upgrades. Red eagle clutches and kolene steels are top notch stuff. If that stuff is actually in the unit its a very good price. That blazer was a great buy.

Excellent! Thanks for the info (and compliments), looks like I'll be ordering it in the morning then. I hope to have it in by Monday, then I can start driving this beast!

Re: Need advice on rebuilt 4L60e tranny, can you decipher this?

force motor being booste means that they turned the torx screw on the back of the EPC to make higher pressure.
kevlar bands I dont really like the stock carbon fiber band is suficient
everything else seems pretty good for a budget build
lifetime warranty? well i guess you cant go wrong there
however be careful there are alot of places that get junkyard transmissions "fix" them whci may consist of some 3-4 clutches and a band and resell it as rebuilt they have all of about 50 bucks in it then they go out of business ands open up with another name and do the same thing again so you cant get any warranty. I will not name the biggest culprit of this but they are here in FL.
