What you guys using for bolt spacers on your engine, like alt/AC/power steering brackets? I changed some stuff and now these cut pieces of pipe are not right lengths.

OK, on a serious note, I'm not sure I'm following the OP. How many spacers get used? I don't recall seeing all that many. Maybe there are different types of ancillary equipment installed, now (like a Sanden AC compressor, etc.)? I put a 305 Chevy engine in a Buick Skylark and the only spacer was the one for the power steering pump, because I was using headers instead of a cast iron exhaust manifold.

Re: Bolt Spacers on engine HELP

My local hardware store has a selection of them of different lengths and hole diameter. I cut stack them or cut them down

Re: Bolt Spacers on engine HELP

I know they are long gone but old 40 era Fords steering wheel shafts were hollow - just the size for a 3/8 bolt. You just sawed off the length you needed. Unfortunately the one I had got used up.

Not making fun - I just wonder if anyone knows of any later model vehicles that might have similar shafts?
