The one I have says New York USA so it was made in NYC or Syracuse.
Made in china, Well there's no surprise. I researched and see the Syracuse factory is now modern luxury lofts. The NYC location was destroyed by fire in 1897,So they bought their only competitor, The steam gauge and lantern company And started manufacturing Dietz lanterns and Syracuse New York. Nice you found an original.

I think I have an old Adlake railroad padlock floating around here someplace. I haven't seen it for a few years but there is a lot of stuff around here that I haven't seen for a few years....
