It looks like the arms of the lift still sit under it with no problems. Definitely needs to come down some more.

I definitely agree. The rearend was sitting on the bumpstops. Well the other day I took the bumpstops out of the rear and the back end came down lower. So I was going go put a different set of rear leaf springs in to bring it back up. Well I was looking at it tonight and said f-it and lowered the front down to make it look right. I think I have it right now

I am totally happy with how it came out and can't wait to drive it now.

You know, I always see these trucks lowered on this forum and they look good but you really don't realize how low they are until you stand up next to one...lol

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

I have a totaly random question!

I am doing a diesel conversion what does the filler neck look lone where you fut the fuel nozzle? Does it have the "flapper door" like the gas truck do?

Can you post a picture?

Thanks

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

it's not exactly the same...I don't know whether it has the flapper or not, but the mouth is larger to accommodate the larger fuel nozzle for the diesel...

Is the ride pretty rough sitting on the bump stop? And r u talking about the little red ones the djm kit came with. I just did the flip kit but mine is like 4 in" gap?

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

It's not sitting on the bumpstops now. I took them out. And I was talking about the factory bumpstops. I'm gonna put a pipe notch above the axle and not run any bumpstops. The truck also had 1 leaf removed out of the leaf pack before I bought the truck. So the rear is probably lowered 7-8 inches.

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

You take a 6" 1/4" wall pipe and cut it in half...then you cut the frame and weld it in the frame...then you box the inside...presto whammo you have a C notch...that's why it's actually called a 'C' notch because the pipe looks like a 'C'...lol

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

Nice build you have going here. I am also building a diesel, except I'm swapping my 6.2 for a 2000 6.5 non-turbo Humvee engine. I just have to wait until the ground dries more so I can get my truck out of the barn and into the shop where the work will be done. Mine will be built more for fuel economy while still kissing the ground.

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

I'f you're going to go for fuel economy I'd use the 6.2 or at least use the 6.2 heads. They have much smaller precups that are better for fuel economy.
