Throttle cable
I want to have my throttle cable look like this, so the question is, can these universal style be cut down, even if its stainless braid?

Yes , I used the Lokar cable and it can be cut it to any length.
You do not want the cable to be tight to the firewall, if a motor mount breaks, or there is any movement with the engine for any reason, that will pull on the throttle and away you go. I installed mine with some slack. nevermind the screw driver in the pic, I was using it to locate the fender brace holes through the insulation on the inside.....

Braided stainless is hard to cut cleanly. I wrap it in masking tape and use a die grinder to cut around the taped area. Leave the tape on until you slip the housing into the fitting - this keeps all the little wire ends contained. I don't know if this is the best method, but I've muddled through using it.

^^^ that is standard procedure for cutting braided stainless.
Summit shows 278 Throttle cables both Stainless and black and ?? Probably some oem style ones in there too. Lots of Universal ones. Some of the Mr Gasket ones have a friendly price but it looks like you need to figure out what ends you need and sort though and find the ones that has those ends. Some of the more spendy Mr Gasket look to have extra ends in them to connect to different setups.
