Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators

Just wanted to ask you guys if any of you have gone with the 26inch wide Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators or were you able to fit the 31inch wide one.

Re: Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators

My suggestion would be to stay away from Griffen radiators. I had 2 of them from summit in my truck in less than 60 days and they both started leaking like a sieve. Luckily I was able to exchange it for another brand. Griffen epoxy welds and it doesn’t seem to hold up very well.

Re: Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators

That sucks to hear, I have used them in several other car builds and never have had a problem with them leaking. That was about 10 years ago though so maybe there assembly or QC process has changed.

I guess my second question would be, is there any other budget friendly radiators or should I just plan on going with a Be Cool radiator. I guess the up side is it just drops in with the Be Cool and don't have to fab anything to fit.

Re: Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators

I haven’t dealt with a Be Cool radiator, but at least if you get it from summit it will have some sort of warranty and they won’t give you a hard time about exchanging it and shipping cost etc.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators

I used a Champion radiator in an LS6 powered street rod that performed really well.

Re: Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators

I had a Be Cool radiator in my '63 Nova. Well made and worked well. Also had a Ron Davis radiator in my '73 Camaro, it was great. Well made and worth the $$

I have Champion radiators in both my 72 and 68. They fit great and work great, would use one again.

Re: Griffin Aluminum Pro Series Radiators

I'm using DeWitts all aluminum radiator from Summit Racing. Looks exactly like the original factory rad that came in my 69' CST396 truck. Working great so far.
