Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

I had an extra set of nice bezels, so I coated them instead of waiting for yours to get here. If you can live with that, send me your postal address via PM and I will get them off to you right away.

I don't know why the pictures look like they are blue, but they are 60 percent gloss black.

Re: Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

Hey Kevin I just found this thread.
As long as they are '69-'72 bezels they will be fine. (not '67-'68)
Make sure you get mine before you send these. I want to make sure mine are just as good,... for your sake.
I'll send you a PM.

Re: Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

Keith, I took them off a 72 this morning. I leave my old stepside out behind the shop so the goats have something to stand on. They were not being used. They are straight and slick. You will be happy.

Re: Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

They look great! Thanks for the quick service.
I sure wish you were closer.
Do you have any plans to do door hinges or hood hinges? I know these are a pain to paint.
I don't need any right now,... but I will eventually.

Re: Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

I do have those plans.

I've been watching the parts board closely. I'm looking to buy three or four sets of door hinges. I plan on blasting them, coating them, and rebuilding them with new bushings and pins. This way, I can offer a turnkey exchange program where someone can send me their hinges and I can send them out a nice set of coated and rebuilt hinges.

As far as hood hinges go, I haven't really considered it too much. I figure most of them are worn out anyway, and there is no way to rebuild them. I'd hate to sell someone a set of nice, pretty powdercoated hinges that were worn out.

I actually have two different guns. A normal gun which isn't worth the time, and a commercial pro gun which is pretty good.

Hey Tex,
I am looking at some powdercoated
valve covers on ebay that are yellow. Can you coat over the top of an existing powder coat job?

Re: Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

I always coat over bare blasted metal. I don't really have any way to assure a solid job otherwise. If the covers themselves were something that you really liked though, I could easy strip the old P/C off and recoat them in your choice of colors.

Re: Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

Just recieved my headlight bezels from Tx Firefighter. They are perfect! I would HIGHLY recommend him for any of your powdercoating needs.
You guys in Texas are lucky to be so close.
Price was VERY reasonable.

So members,...get your stuff boxed up and start shipping your parts to Kevin.

Re: Powdercoating pictures for Lolife

Have you tried the powercoating that looks kinda like polished aluminum? Ive seen some engine pieces done like that a car show, and they look very good. I'm not sure the name of it.
