Re: LS swap for my 75

Things are going little slow. Mainly missing parts and a few other things. Broke a intake bolt, power steering pump gave me trouble. But other than that she's in the truck. Figured since I pulled the motor I would replace my rusted out fenders to

Re: LS swap for my 75

So I got ahold of this 3/4 ton driveline to replace my 203 driveline. If I shorten will I be good? Or is it to beefy? Lol

Re: LS swap for my 75

Nice job on Exhaust!

You'll have to really inspect the u-joints or you may want to just change them out as a precaution. Talk to the driveline shop and see how much they would charge to swap them out or you do it, and then bring to shop for shortening/balancing.

Spicer joints

Re: LS swap for my 75

what a week. so still buttoning up things but seems like it isn't going to good. I'm wishing I would have stuck with a 350. took my front driveline in today to get new u joints. I would normally do it but I don't have the tools to melt out the plastic clips that hold it in. anyways $150to install 2 splicer u joints OUCH. I still gotta take him my rear shaft to shorten ($95) plus new u joints for that. took my radiator in today just to check it guy suggested I just get a new one since that one is original. he quoted me $350 for a new one. any suggestion on were to buy a nice one? thanx

Re: LS swap for my 75

$350 might be a fair price if it's his premium radiator. That's in line with prices I've checked for mine at rock auto for their best. The Champion aluminum radiators are much cheaper but it seems like everyone has to massage the mounts to make them fit. Maybe I let that mess with my ocd more than I should though. Keep after it, you're almost there.

That's the rear shaft in my 87 Burb, had it built. You probably already know this but if you use a double cardan it is recommended that you have no angle (Zero Degrees) at the axle pinion.

I don't speak LS very well either, I'd be making those mistakes too. What radiator did you end up going with?
