Generator to Alternator Wiring Question
I'm upgrading this '56 235 6cyl from its generator to an alternator. On the old generator there are two connections reading F and A. On the new alternator there is an F and an R. Does F=F and A=R? That's what I'm assuming, but wanted to double check before I go and do something I'll regret. Thanks!

which alt are you going to use? my choice would be a 1-wire they are simple to wire up.

I think you might be looking for something like this:
 The whole right-up is here Everybody has opinions and I respect the others stated, however I choose to stay away from single wire alternators. Although they are easy to hook up, they lack "remote voltage sensing" that you can also read about in the link from DWCSR.
