Tear down & rebuild of steering column - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I decided since it was raining here to work out in the garage tonight and clean up the old standard steering column I took out of the ramp truck and replaced it with a tilt. I started taking it a part and noticed the turn signal is the same one I installed in the tilt only difference was the new one had the light attached for the gear shifter which I found out that had I ordered the switch for a 4 speed it would have been the same!

Oh well any way here is the column torn down and then back together. No it's not nice and pretty but it's clean and well greased to operate like a new one if I ever need it.
The 2 pictures with the screw driver are pointing to how to line the upper bearing housing into the column are it want work, believe me I tried.
No special tools needed at all for what I did. In fact only tools I used was a flat blade and phillip head screw drivers.

Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
