68 dually C30

Dually with motor and bulldog trans. What do you guys think it is worth? Did drive when parked but has been sitting for a while. I don't know a whole lot about it. I appears the frame has been worked on. I think it comes with a bill of sale only.

Re: 68 dually C30

I'd say $1,000 to $1,500 tops... Based on the pictures it doesn't look too rusty, looks faily complete, and the rear tires look to have good tread at least. But that's my opinion, and it's always hard to tell without seeing it!

Re: 68 dually C30

I see dually setups go cheap usually as not many people want them. Seen lots go $500-1000 usually. For a beater/project I've never seen them go for more.

Re: 68 dually C30

i'm in no position to disagree with the 2 guys that's already said what they think it's worth, i don't know what the demand is for those dullys. but i would think it would be worth a little more. that front clip alone should be worth at least $350-$400 if it's in real good shape & the core support is nice. i guess that could be the only thing that's of value.
what kind of shape is the cab in? is it an a/c cab? or did 68's even have a/c?
you may get more out of it by parting it out.

Re: 68 dually C30

I just re-read your post and saw your looking at buying it... I still say around the $1,000 mark is a safe start, but obviously if you can get it for less that's better. How bad is the rust?

I paid a $1,050 for my '69 C-30 running and with a dump body.. But it needed a TON of work... Bought a '70 parts truck for $400 that was complete, and had pretty much no rust on the body panels (cab and frame themselves were a little different).

If you buy it and worse comes to worse, you can always get at least $1,000 to $1,500 parting it out. Between the sheet metal, engine (even just selling it as a rebuildable motor, and it's probably a 4 bolt main if it's original), trans, rear-end, interior, etc, etc. I'd feel safe at $1,500 but that'd be it..

Red face Re: 68 dually C30

I haven't seen it yet. It is part of a package deal i am thinking of pursuing. I was hoping to get 1500 out of it. I guess until i see it and take some good photos i will never know.

Re: 68 dually C30

Ok here is my 2 cents... here in Oklahoma a vehicle with a bill of sale only is worth SQUAT thats right I bought a truck with a bill of sale and the DMV told me scrap it or part it out they would NOT issue a title so check with the DMV first if they say OK then based on the info provided I would say 500 to 1000 she looks rough and missing some KEY parts (grill trim) so try to get it cheap

Re: 68 dually C30

Engine and tranny are worth MAX $500 together since they are nothing special. And 350's are a dime a dozen so most go for $200-400. The frame you'd get $200 out of which is scrap price, unless you find somebody who'll actually pay more than scrap for a frame. Which personally I'd never do lol

Front clip depends on shape $100ea fender, bumper $10-100, hood is $40-100, grille is a $40-100 so yeah maybe $400 for a complete clip pending shape. That cab is $150 cab due to the rust. Doors maybe $100 for both as they don't look the best, but hard to tell. Tires and rims $200-600 pending condition.

I'd say pending on the condition of everything you could get a $1000 out of parting it out to the right buyers. $1500 would probably be max if everything is in nice condition and if you don't mind sitting on parts for awhile. If I were to part that truck out, it'd have to be a $500 truck or less. If it's a package deal, then obviously you want to part it out to cover the costs of everything to either make the other truck or stuff free or to make a profit. So becareful on what all you're buying. Look on your local craigslist for pricing too as every area is different.

1968 with an original 350? Never heard of that, thought 69 was the first year of that combo. In any case its not a 4 bolt main, unless the harmonic balancer has been changed.

Re: 68 dually C30

I don't know what size engine is in it, maybe a 305 or 307. I have passed on the deal. I was interested in the package deal for a titled short wide bed truck that came with it and was hoping I could sell the rest to cover my cost. But with the distance, shipping cost involved, and lack of storage space for what my wife calls junk (lol) I am no longer interested.
