90 burb motor into 89 truck?
My nephew spun a bearing in his 89 k1500 with a fuel injected 350.I was looking around for a motor for him and found a 350 from a 90 or 91 burb. Both are fuel injected. Will the motor work from the burb (older style) to the newer IFS 4wd Truck? What will I have to swap from motor to motor if anything? Are all the sensors in the same place? Will both be one piece seals?
Also,he wants to put a cam in it.It would be smart to replace timing chain, sprockets, and seals all through it and a cam wouldn't be that much more work to do since the motor will be apart anyway. The guy that does my machine work on my motors said if a aftermarket cam was installed the check engine sensor will come on.Is this true? How could you fix it so it don't or would he just have to live with it? Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 05-13-2008 at 04:33 AM. |

Re: 90 burb motor into 89 truck?
the motor will fit but a 2wd oilpan is bifferent from a 4wd. the check engine light shouldnt come on but dont put more than an rv cam in unless you change chips or it will throw out the map sensor and run rich
