Question trailer hitch reciever - 1964-1966 - options?

Howdy folks.

I was wondering if any of you have installed or had installed a trailer hitch receiver on your 1964-1966 chevy c10 trucks?

If so, what brand/type/model did you use and how do you like it?

I am researching around for information.

Thanks.

I've got one leaning up against my shop for 63-66 trucks. It's a Uhaul brand hitch. I can't speak for how it fits once installed since I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Here's a thread showing the install on Corts60 GMC. It's an adjustable model so should fit the later frame as well:

And here's a link to the hitch itself. It may be available elsewhere for less money:

W,

I used this Valley #81090 class III / class IV hitch. The application is for 1963-2000 C/K P/U. Works good fit fine. Did not interfere with my underbed gas tank.

TR,

Does this hitch fasten under the frame? Got any photos of where it interfaces to the frame?

Thanks.

I have U-Haul class III hitch, fits and look just like TR65's on the truck.

Here you go Laker,

Kind of hard to see under there (the overload springs are in the way) but there are three bolts attaching the hitch to the bottom of the frame channel. In my case one bolt is shared by the gas tank. The second pic shows the front and middle bolts, the last pick shows the rear and middle bolts

Ebay Item. I messaged the guy and he says the S shaped bracket goes on the outside of the moulded bumper. Yikes!

Aerotruck,

Drop the mouse and back away from the computer. I wouldn't get near that hitch, and $350??

But I know your thing is original old stuff.

It's got to be OK,
It's written Heavy Duty on the box! LOL!

OK here's one. How many bolted pieces does it take to make a trailer hitch?

Wonder what the class rating would be on that?

A '59 Friendship Vacationaire is now mine. 10'8" of aluminum goodness.

I will have to order a hitch for the truck, but it will be an easy pull.

Thanks!

Change out the suspension on the trailer, a set of airbags, and slam it. Nice trailer! Should be some fun times.
