Re: My 72 Cheyenne Super C20

I ended up winning the second race. Came away with finals win in Outlaw. Got a plaque and a jacket. It was a long day but worth it. Lots of fun.

Re: My 72 Cheyenne Super C20

Thanks, it is fun to drive. I have two more races left this season I am in 5th place. Only 3 pts out of 2nd and 14 pts from 1st. Maybe lady luck will come my way the last two races, who knows. I am having fun and that's the main thing.

Re: My 72 Cheyenne Super C20

I took the 72 C20 out today for a drive. Drove it over to a friend's house because he was cleaning out his shop. If you know my friend, you want to be there when he does his cleaning. He throws out some good stuff along with the junk/trash. While in his driveway I decided to take a picture of the backside of the driver side sun visor. I have never seen this in any of the 67-72 trucks I been in, and I have not seen anyone on this site post a picture of this decal. So, I thought I would. It tells you how to start the motor.

All '72 trucks had the instructions on the driver side visor.

Re: My 72 Cheyenne Super C20

I have a question regarding the chrome ashtray in my 72 C20. It was already in the truck when I bought it back in the early 1990's. Is this something someone added or is it part of the Cheynne Super trim package?

Re: My 72 Cheyenne Super C20

Cheyenne Super ashtray would be painted dash color - so it's aftermarket or someone chromed it.

Re: My 72 Cheyenne Super C20

Entered in the CCC Car show today and came out with a Class Win. There was a total of 139 cars and trucks. The class I entered was 89 and Older Trucks. Not sure how many trucks in this class because they were spread out everywhere. it was a long day, spent 4 hours and came away with a plaque.

Mine was in poor shape and I got a replacement from Ecklers. It was a perfect match/replacement.

chroming the ashtray and glovebox were a thing guys did in the 80's, they also did the top cowl. This followed, it seems in the 2000's, by guys extending the fake wood grain to the ashtray...all of which is aftermarket
