My First Truck

I was looking through some old pics and came across this. This was my first vehicle let alone truck. A 1956 3100 straight out of the barn. Hey don't make fun of the 1975 LTD Ford hubcaps. They all matched and it was 1984 and I was 16. A mear $150 and 8 months of paper chasing to get the title. It was worth the wait. Many moons later, I find this pic. It gets even better. I went to the house that I used to live in and my mom now lives there. In the basement the windows have been stored and in the attic of the garage Through the dirt I could see a fender and grill with upper and lower panels still attached. You may soon find them in the classifieds. It will take longer to get them out of these places than it would to just take them off off a truck. I will get pics as bad camera allows.

Re: My First Truck

I got a good idea. You can start a build with those fenders and you could end up driving your old truck again.

Re: My First Truck

That might qualify in the slowest of build threads. I like that idea. I do still have the title of the smashed and burried cab of this truck. Probably need to start over with that part of truck. It was always a dream of mine to fully customize this body style of Chevy. 1955, 56, and 57 are my all time fav's. Now that I think about it, it would be a overthetop thread just starting with a fender. Hmmmmmmm. I will keep it and the rest parts in my basement, what's left of it, for now. Thanks for the idea.

I agree, I've had a few 72's and a 79, but I would have to say I like 55 to 57's the best and oh ya, I would have to include 58's & 59's made to look like a 55!

Re: My First Truck

Will a 59 and on down fit on a 67 frame? I'll ditch the rusty 67 cab for a 56 anyday. Don't get me wrong. I love the 67 body but mine is in shambles. Drive train used but safe to drive. Any ideas on how to mate them with either GMC or Chevy parts?
