custom sail panel trim

I want to replace my custom sail panel trim, lmc has stainless, but more expensive, classicparts has aluminum trim. Anyone have any input. (Quality, the way stainless would look, and how the aftermarket sail trim fits and where to buy.)

Re: custom sail panel trim

the 60-63 sail panels were ss, the 64-66 were aluminum. there are so many original sets available, i wouldn't buy aftermarket.

Thanks 1963c-10, didn't know they were stainless, my 63 passenger side is good so I will hunt for the drivers, its cheaper plus I know it will fit.

Yeah I can sum that up in two words, not much. I did get Frank painted though and if you missed it around the forums I could be coaxed to post a pic. I just don't want to hi-jack 63 C10's thread here...Vernski

Re: custom sail panel trim

I've got a '62 plain cab. I bought SS sail trim, but don't have the sheet metal mounts for the rear. Can I just use sheet metal screws? I have a feeling that wouldn't be the same.....I've tried to find repro hardware, but not available?

They are the trim pieces that say Custom on the upper cab of the truck, behind the doors.

Look at the wing vent window on pic #2
Is that a 64-66 with a 60-63 trim installed?
