Tracking my C10 across the US

My truck is scheduled for pick up early next week for transport from Arizona to New York.

I picked up a GPS tracker that we will be placing in the glove compartment. I’ve been tinkering with it the last few days and it works pretty well. I’m curious to see how the driver makes his move across the country.

Attached is the screenshot of the movement I’ve been making the last few days around my town. I’ll be sure to post a new picture once the truck gets to New York.

With it pinging every 15 minutes I expect it’ll last (maybe) two weeks which is more then enough time for the truck to get across the country.

Re: Tracking my C10 across the US

Interesting, watching to see how this works out. I bought my truck out of CA, shipped to MI. Took almost a month. It sat in a storage lot in Chicago for about 10 days waiting for a ride. Once it arrived in Detroit, it was delivered in 2 days.

I’m hoping the broker follows through!

I’ll also post an update once the post office ships it - I don’t think it’ll work from a plane, but it’ll be interesting to see how they move packages.

Re: Tracking my C10 across the US

Yesterday I dropped the GPS tracker in the mail to Tempe from Long Island.

Looks like the USPS will be flying it out of Newark Airport.

I got it from www.trak-4.com. The one I got has a battery but I’m sure they versions that can be wired in.

I'm betting you'll see it stop for a few hours at a NV brothel...

And it went from Newark Airport to Indianapolis. Think Phoenix will be its next stop?

Re: Tracking my C10 across the US

Looking at the battery percentage drop rate, you may not have any charge left by Phoenix....

Re: Tracking my C10 across the US

The truck was supposed to be picked up on Sunday morning but now the second trucking company has backed out. The broker I am working with, Montway, is looking to find a third potential shipper.

Anyone have any advice? The truck is in Arizona and I’m trying to get it to Long Island, New York.
