HVAC divertor valve

During a recent garage clean, i came across a stock 89 5.7 hvac heater hose divertor valve. i am pondering the use of it, during my reinstall of my new motor.

would anyone have a pic of the mount, i cannot seem to find any good pics, and mine has an open port that appears to mount to a block off plate.

any help would greatly appreciated

also, how many have plumbed without ? i have on older vehicles, but i cannot recall if the cab stays warmer form the hot flow.

Re: HVAC divertor valve

My extended cab didn't come with one, and when the one in my Yukon went bad I just removed it. I didn't notice any difference in the heat or A/C function.

Re: HVAC divertor valve

I've only ever seen them installed on SUVs that had rear heat.

Re: HVAC divertor valve

delete it is....i have one, along a ist of other items soon to go bye-bye...

for know, if anyone is in need of the entire from serpentine, pulleys, water pump, alternator, misc brackets...let me know and i will look and see what i have.

i have some decent small parts and items that would easily clean up and paint for freshening your underhood.
