Decent headers

The Borla headers on my Yukon have cracks and the merge for the primaries are blown out. Looking for a good set without spending a ton of money. Has to be 96-up vortec, shorty that bolts up to stock Y-pipe. Not concerned bout finish, it will rust anyways lol

Re: Decent headers

i just installed a JBA ss short header...fit was great, but i did dimple one tube slightly at number 8 cyl. they will except the stock Y pipe, but i went larger there also.

they offer them for the vortec with emission bungs as well.

Re: Decent headers

I run these in my Yukon: https://www.summitracing.com/oh/part...make/chevrolet

No rusting and not having to replace the donut gasket is priceless.

Re: Decent headers

What I thought about Borla. I didn’t buy em but still, for the price they better outlast the sun.

I had the same ones on my truck and when I sold it they were still fine. They were the Edelbrock version but pretty much the same thing. Those didn't have the donut built in so that was a pain but the stainless headers had been on there for 12 years and were fine.

Re: Decent headers

Everyone has an opinion. Look for thicker [like 14ga] tubing and 3/8' thick flanges. Otherwise its all steel tubing and welds regardless of who made them.

Re: Decent headers
