Question Hey Kabwe

Hey buddy, in referrance to your post about the steering columns in Long Beach. Can you take a picture of the one you have yet to install for me? I have some family in the LBC area and I may just have them pick one up for me. Specific info about where to send them would also be very helpful.

Thanks in advance for any help
Shawn

Re: Hey Kabwe

Hey Jebb,

I will take a pic of my column tonight for you. But you misunderstood me. My column came from the boneyard. I wish I had brought the column from the guy at Long Beach though, because his columns are already cleaned up and painted and rebuild for the same price I got mine for. All your people have to do is walk the yard at the swapmeet and they will see a guy selling nothing but columns (not used looking columns his columns look new). Tell him what kind of car you are putting it in and he will give them the right one. Also I have a buddy who got a column from him I will see if he has a card or something. I will email him right now and see if he has a number.

Thumbs up Re: Hey Kabwe

Thanks bud. I just want something simple with no ignition switch on it. This sounds like just the thing for me.

Re: Hey Kabwe

Hey Jebb,

I'm glad to be of help I took some pics of the column and I also took one of the one installed in the 55 210. The column does not have an ignition switch on it and it is a column shift. I email my buddy about the guy that sells them at Long Beach and he said he has to look for his number. If I got it I will be sure to farward it to you.

Re: Hey Kabwe

That will work for me! If I don't hear back from you in a few weeks I will just head out to the salvage yard and try to find one.

Thanks again man!
Shawn

Re: Hey Kabwe

That would be very helpful Josh, I hear that the magic # is 34 inches.
Thanks!

Re: Hey Kabwe

Hey Jebb,

My buddy could not find the guys number. But like I said he is always at the Long Beach swapmeet. If you go to the bone yard its a early 70's GM Van column that you want it is perfect. It is the 34 inches that you are looking for.

The place I brought mine from was a auto recycling place I called and they knew just what I was talking about "He said you must have a hotrod huh". I hope I've been of help
