Hello to all out there, I'm thinking of lowering my 72 Chevy C10 2" in the front and 4" in the rear. I really can't spend allot on this and was wondering if I could get away with just installing the springs and shocks or would I have to get the spindles and everything else. I read somewhere dropping the front end more than 2" you would have to use the spindles, the c-notch thing and what ever else but I'm not sure just dropping it exactly 2" would call for all the other parts. If it does, I'll just leave it alone until I hit the lottery..lol. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, George

Hey George, if you have rear coils you can do a 2" front and 4" rear drop with just springs and shocks. Might want to add a rear shock relocater kit and adjustable track bar. Lots of info in the suspension section of this forum.

Hello RenoKeene, yes, I have coil springs all around. I'm not to knowledgeable about this stuff. I didn't know I had to relocate the rear shock and I have no idea what a adjustable track bar is.

I just looked at a adjustable track bar. I guess it can't be as simple as just installing the springs and shocks and the truck is lowered. There is always something else you have to do or buy. I think I'll just forget it for now. By the way RenoKeene, your truck looks very nice.

My 72 has coil springs all around and I'm looking for a pic of the same w/ a 3-5" drop to see what it looks like. Thanks

If you want to do it right then yes, there is plenty to buy. I did a 3/5 on mine a couple of weeks ago. There are plenty of before and after pics in my build thread on this page "1967 Shop truck from a beater" I bought everything from Western Chassis. I also bought 2 new u bolts and wished I had bought new spring cups. All of it including extra bolts from the hardware store was $675.00. Well worth it to have a smooth ride. The front 3" springs have good action as well.

Well $675 isn't to bad, better than going into the thousands. Maybe when you get a little time you could show a pic (if you have one) so I could see how a 3-5 drop looks. Thanks tutone.
