Parking brake cable questions?/help!

I'm trying to buy rear brake cables for my truck. It's a 71C20 long wheel base leaf suspension, standard 4 speed transmission,v8 350, also has a Dana rear end as opposed to the eaton. When you look up cables it lists some separate for th400 truck 39" length another list for 39 9/16 length and another for a 41" length. Why would th400 need a different cable length and why only 9/16 shorter? Seems like you could take that out on the adjustment. And so what application would need 41"? Auto zone only lists the th400 one and rock auto shows 3 but no explanation to know if I need 39 9/16 or 41. I could rip the truck apart and measure the old one I guess but then I either leave it apart for days waiting for parts to come in the mail or put it back together broken again. Hoping someone on the site has had to replace these already.

The local store only lists " with th 400"! Was hoping somebody would know why/if th 400 would be different than any other applications..

Re: Parking brake cable questions?/help!

I bought the hot rod universal cables off ebay. A pair 8' long each with bar to tie them together. Yes i also use a aftermarket handle....but im sure they would work fine with the oem setup. And it gets rid of the strung out cable mess gm came up with!

Thanks for the reply, What do you mean handle? Have a link or any picture? I am using the rear wilwood d154 calipers with built in ebrake.

I got this handle from control cables. Its nice and small mounts anywhere, looks great and is the right price. I mounted mine right beside my drivers seat by console

Re: Parking brake cable questions?/help!

Oh hand brake handle, was looking to use my factory foot pedal. Thinking of keeping factory front cables and simply finding something that will work as rear cables and with wilwood d154 ebrake calipers. #5 on diagram is what I'm looking for to fit my application. The rear cables. Mine setup requires a explorer type clevis. And I removed the rear cables that were attached to drums.
