Post Hellwig Overloads

I just installed the Hellwig overloads on my '72 c-20 Custom Camper (thanx Bill Molecule!) that were originally added-on dealer overloads on another '72. These are 30 years old and still great !
I put these on with the camper still on the truck and by just jacking up the body & a big "C" clamp they went on slick as a whistle ! The camper on the ass-end weights about 1600# and the overloads raised this puppy up over three inches! I really don't have the "U" bolts cinched down that much either. The original springs were still great but I wanted a little extra carrying ability and stability. Do any of you folks have the same setup? What do you do with an empty bed? I really don't want to drive this thing unloaded and wearing a kidney belt. I guess I will have to back the nuts off when it is empty.
