Emergency brake cables on 51 short bed

Looking to see what others are using for emergency brake cables for a GM rear end with drum brakes. I've got my cross bar hooked up and would like to find a cable that would run from the stock supports and hook up with the cross bar. I'm not totally against using a cut to fit set up but was just wondering what others have used.

I can't really describe the exact makeup of it but if you still have the old rear end and cables you should be able to mount the cables off the rear end under the truck just about where they would line up the same as the old cables did. (brackets might work with mods) and fab up connector pieces to go from that cable to the cross bar using the clevis off the old cable and maybe enough of the cable to reach the piece that connects the end of he late model cable to the intermediate cable on the donor. That stamped steel hook thing that the ends of the cables go in. With the length figured out you can swag or have ferrules swagged on the cable.

Try here https://www.classicparts.com/1947-54...p%20%231:gmc2:

Parking Brake Cable for 1947-54 Chevy Truck

50 1/2" long. Same cable as 1/2 ton with a threaded rod extension. Will have to modify the bracket on the frame to hold the casing.

The ones from Classic parts look like the bolt to the back of the backing plate the rear end I have is a GM out of a Camaro or Nova. The rear end I took out of the truck was not original and the parking break cables were kind of a cobbled up mess

Still pretty easy. Try here you know the length now . You have push in ends to backing plate. I had same problem. This company made my cables and they worked great. Give them a call.
