[Project:] Allergic to Time (51' Build)

Better post up my progress....

Here's info from another forum I've posted it on....

-My brothers' dad purchased the truck way back in the 70's and towed it behind his schoolbus turned camper, with the harley in the bed of the truck. Bought it from Washington State, and it had things changed before that, including went from stick to auto, and a big motor put in, I still have no idea what it is.. lol.

-Gave it to me and my brothers about 10 years ago, and we started tearing it apart to do a frame up on. Ended up getting it apart, cleaning up the frame and POR15'ing it.

-Few years later, sand blasted cab and primed and realized I wouldn't be taking it to prom like I dreampt of as a kid.

-2 years ago my brothers' dad lost his life in a fire at his bar he owned. He tried putting the fire out, and wasn't successful.

-Now that my brother's are pass the grief stage, my younger of the two older brother's really has motivation to get this back together, and I do as well.

-Yesterday, took a bunch of parts to the sandblaster, so we can start the body work.

Plans:
Get it back together and drive it basically.. Basic body work and what not for now.
Eventually a S-10 long bed frame with air ride.
Built up 350 Engine

Pics soon.

The Frame and Cab tucked away in the garage of his late father's bar.
(cap is off his old 86, obviously not for this truck...)

Engine is a 400 as well, so should be pretty fast.

Looks like a neat project.
Just one thing, I'm confused. And, not to pry into your personal life, but....
Twice, you say "My brother's dad" That's not your dad?

correct..

My mom got married and had my two brothers.

got divorced, then remarried, and divorced with no kids with him.

then I popped out like 10 years later...

lol.... i was really close to their father though, kind of like an uncle figure. my brothers are 16-17 years older then me, so being my sitters when mom was at work, i was with them alot, and visited their father on holidays and such, and spent alot of time at the bar he owned while I was a kid, doing odd jobs while they did work/maintence/had get togethers and such.

Just picked up a gallon of red primer so I can hit those bare metal parts when I get back and start on body work...

Re: [Project:] Allergic to Time (51' Build)

Not too much to update, but I got the doors taken apart and glass removed so we can get them sand blasted..

Then off to my buddys garage to see that he got more stuff blasted...

Then got a few more small peices painted before getting fustrated with my buddys compressor.

Brought a few dry peices home when I left.

Re: [Project:] Allergic to Time (51' Build)

Yesterday brought some of the parts to my bro's garage so we can paint there instead. My paint gun came out all choppy and messed up the grill, but has a cool textured finish, haha.. I tried fixing it and I think I broke it, so gave up.. Went to my house and pulled out my brother's old guns from when he was a kid and he had this old craftsman one and i'll tell u after cleaning the primer that was caked on from about 15 years ago, that thing sprayed beautifully...
