Jolene
Ok guys,
I've been meaning to start this for a while but can never get around to it. I bought this one about 5-6 months ago and its been rough, to say the least. Picked her up for $4,500. good deal! until she broke down on the drive home, on I-5, with no in state tags - and got towed. I spend another oh $800 or so between the impond fees and registeration so far. Another @200 to have her towed home. Anyway, Here is the specs so far: 71, Short step. 402 - Edelbrock intake and 750 carb. fresh strip and painted new torque converter (1900 stall) aftermkt headers (wrong size for body of truck and bang against frame, will be replaced soon) 3" straight pipe exhaust to magnaflow mufflers, turndowns at rear bumber. 2" cowl hood aftermkt grille assembly (soon to change to large mm bars) 20" rims I have rewired the entire engine compartment with rolls of wire, electrical tape, connecters and shrink wrap. tore distributor down and rewired the inside of it as well. The wiring to the tail lights were snipped with someone (P/O?) inset the brake lights into the fenders and needs to be redone proper. Eventually When I do the frame off I will just buy wiring harnesses so I dont have to redo it again but all this will work for now (my lady wants a boat this summer and we need some power to pull it) ------ PS. sorry I took all these with my cell... Re: Project: Jo, The other girlfriend.
So you see that fender?
I cannot for the life of me get it straight. Ive tried everything. I even posted a thread about it and tried other suggestions to no end. Ive never wanted to pay anyone to help but I think I might be getting to that point. |

Re: Project: Jo, The other girlfriend.
You could shave down that inner mount up by the grill and pull it in slightly. That would pull the whole fender over.

Re: Project: Jo, The other girlfriend.
So I havent been able to do much lately (been sick and got a new puppy)
But I though Id put some picture up of what Im working with. Essentially everything is how it came except the motor. I tore that out when I first got the truck and cleaned it up a little bit.

Looking good. I love big blocks, should be a good boat puller.

Re: Project: Jo, The other girlfriend.
Ok, so been super busy lately with work. March is rediculious with home building and remodeling. I did manage to relocate the fuel pump to the frame rail (exterior rail below the cab) and do a little work on the bed. I ran new plumbing on all the fuel lines (high pressure rubber) and was amazed how cheap harbor freight has insulated mounting brackets, used for the new trans lines and high pressure fuel lines.
Here is some recent photos of what was under the plywood in the bed....

Re: Project: Jo, The other girlfriend.
Ok, So I am finally back working on this truck (moved so Im commuting to work, but will be moving so Ill have more time to work on it). But I went ahead and ordered a fuel tank relocation tank from LMC. Was soooooo excited when I came home to a nice brown box on the front porch. Went to pick it up and the box pulled right off the top. UPS dropped the tank, tore the box and dented the new tank and mounting brackets. Soo Disappointed. Filed a claim with LMC and they should be sending me a new one.

Re: Project: Jo, The other girlfriend.
Lots! No one was really commenting so I figured no one was too interested. Since my last post;
Gas tank in bed, all new fuel lines. New mechanical pump. Bed completely torn off and apart. Welding up stake holes currently. Removed old a/c system and patching for a vintage air in future. Dash completely apart right now, cleaning up wiring and replacing what's needed. Lots an lots being done! Pics available if requested! Posted via Mobile Device
