Heater core access door kit

Bought a 01 2500HD with 295k on the cluster. Have a smell of coolant in the cab so that heater core is coming out.

I am going to do the sawzall method. But I was wondering if there is a "kit" to add a clean looking access door to this in place of having a duct tape mess. I get that no one sees the thing. But if I am going to do this it is going to look clean after.

Anyone make a access door "kit"?

Re: Heater core access door kit

No kits like that... that I know of.
It's not that difficult to pull the dash out and service the evap and heater core. It's just time consuming.
If you're worried about it do a test run on a U-pullit truck.

RTFM... GM Parts Books, GM Schematics, GM service manuals, and GM training materials...Please include at least the year and model in your threads. It'll be easier to answer your questions.
And please let us know if and how your repairs were successful.

Re: Heater core access door kit

I hate when I fabricate something only to find out that there is something out already.

Thank you for the advise.
