Distributor?
My 71 blazer with a 350 died on me yesterday. Ended up finding out it had no spark. Its an HEI distributor. I have power going to the coil. Now, bought a new coil and module. Replaced it. Truck will start. Now the kicker. Runs for about 5 seconds and then stalls. What the neck is my issue? I'm stumped.. By the way its a summit distributor.

Pull a plugwire and have someone crank it over, look for a nice spark.

Can you explain how it stalls? Does the engine completely stop running? Does it stumble or hiccup but stays running when in neutral or park? If that's the case there's probably something else going on like the advance, timing, wiring etc. Double check and maybe triple check that carefully.

Check the pickup coil. The wires to the pickup coil move as the vacuum advance works back & forth. Often a wire gets broken inside the insulation & is hard to tell if it is broken.

Its a manual but it just stops. no hiccups just stops but then I cant start it after that. If I swap coils it will start again then stall(stop). If I buy a new distributor, do you think this will end possibly?

Since it dies and won't restart, check to make sure you have 12vdc to the HEI when ignition key is on and check for spark and/or broken wire as mentioned above.
Other things to do is to make sure that all end connections are in good shape. Make sure the battery cable end connections are good and that the original resistor wire for the points distributor has been replaced with a non resistor straight 12VDC wire.

Is the ground wire inside the distributor for the coil connected and not nicked or cut? I pinched mine with the cover when I put it in and it was almost cut in half. Also check to make sure the whole distributor hasn't moved and thrown the timing off and that the hold down is tight. That's also its path to ground.
