Dad got rear-ended and truck is toast. He is wondering about interest in purchasing back and parting it. If anyone has any interest please let me know.

Located in Washington. Pickup only on large parts. Shipping on smaller parts.

All this is dependent on the cost of buyback.

Unless I'm missing something that looks fixable...bent frame maybe?..damaged cab?..you would think rearenders insurance would pay for it..

Well they finally got back to him and he's not buying it back. They want 5k buyback.

It's been his daily driver for almost 8 years (I think) now. Time to put some money into his 56 Chev 2dr post sedan finally. Not gonna cover all of it but enough to get a good start.

Effected everything. Frame cracked and bent, rear leafs bent, fenders all bent,running board twisted, cab is twisted and doors don't open or shut, bed pushed the back of the cab in about 10"s broke the seat mounts, pushed cab into the back of the engine, driveline shoved into the trans and cracked the tailshaft, hood and supports bent. Motor has 100k on it and so other than parting not worth fixing for him. Maybe someone will buy it from insurance and give it a new life.

Wow..that's a lot of damage..and they want 5k for it?...good luck with that for them

If they want a 5000k buy back for it I wonder what they are going to pay out on it?

Don't want to put up numbers but it was a good enough offer that he's not even going to fight for more.

Good for him. This is one of the first times I have ever heard someone say they were getting enough settlement from an insurance co.
