Their was actually three traction aid codes
G80 was a limited slip that used spring loaded multiple disc clutches attached to both axles. This type is rebuildable and allows some slippage between left and right tires. G86 was a "lunch box" locker used in the heavy duty 3/4 ton and up Eaton axle. When locked there is no difference in speed between left and right axles. G87 was a clutch style with a leveraged differential pin (power loc?) used in heavy duty Dana axles. The more torque applied the tighter this axle holds both axles together.

K5-CK10 (12-bolt) got the G80,the typical Positrac. CK20/2500-30/3500 (with HO52/72) got the G86,the No-Spin (Detroit Locker). CK20/2500-30/3500 (with Dana60) got the G87,the Power-Loc or Max Traction. A 6-lug Dana 44 or 60 rear could be had in a C1500,which could have the G87.
