could some one please post a picture of the stepside support bracket for the step, I have bought the brackets from LMC, and they have two thereaded holes in the top, but do not see what they bolt to ,I can see where the bracket bolts to the step

If you mean the L shaped step support bracket it bolts to the cross sill number 14 in the diagram. If you mean the fender brace set number 7 in the diagram those are just for the fender. A step brace not shown is one that is threaded on one end that goes through a hole in the frame and attaches to the lower front of the fender where the step attaches to it. I don't think LMC offers it.
Here is the LMC catalog diagram and a couple pics from under my original 69 stepper.

Additional pic of step bracket. Item #2 in bottom diagram. The top of it bolts to a floor cross sill.

thank you, it looks like the top of the bracket bots to the cross rals the wood bed is fixed too.L shaped bracket
