Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Today I took out my seat and carpet so I could access the top of my tranny/t-case and soak it and the engine with simple green.

Don't have a 67-72 truck at the moment but I did get a gasket set for my BBC and hope to get it built this weekend for the Chevelle.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Talked to a lady who's husband owns a couple of 67-72 school busses he doesn't use anymore for his rafting company. Gave her my number, hopefully he will call and I can get my gauges finally! Oh, and I rebuilt my truck mentally for like the 9,000th time.

Did some drilling on the new rear bumper brackets (that were missing holes!!), getting ready to mount my new rear sport bumper, in place of the crappy step bumper that's there now.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Replaced vacuum hose on brake booster, installed the back half of the console and wired the rear speakers and crossover for the stereo; wired door switches for the courtesy lights under the dash, in front half of console and rear cab light. Replaced knobs on headlight and wiper switches with Ron Francis knobs and re-installed the battery.

What show are you going to? I'm going to the Gold Rush Carshow in my hometown of Oroville.
Edit: I just saw where Cobb is and I'm guessing that you are going to the show in clearlake

Today I buffed my 68 GMC with rubbing compound, did some painting in the engine compartment, and swapped air filters. On my wife's 41 GMC I painted the trim arount the windshield, put a coat of wax on, put on the sideboards, and fired it up for a test run (It hasn't been driven in a year). I only have one more day to get the trucks ready for the show on saturday, her's is show quality and I've had it in 3 shows, mine is still "under construction" and it is it's 1st show.

Yes: Clearlake Cruise-In 3 Day show.
1st one that the City Of Clearlaske has ever put on.

Hoping the show is a winner!

I wish they had an "Under Construction" Class but it's their 1st show.
Gonna try and get on the Pkanning Board for it next year.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

My buddy & I just got my 72 K-10 Surburban running tonight after 2+ months of rebuilding the transmission & transfer case! It spent 2 years in the driveway, not being driven, because it only went backwards and I was lazy. Just the 200lb. cast iron transfer case took us 3 hours using a cherry picker down through the floor, floor jack underneath with a 2x10 board, and all the while pushing with our feet and pulling from up above to get it mounted! It was all worth it ... even though it was throwing serious smoke all the way home from the garage.

Re: What did you do to your truck today!

Well, my 98 S-10 had some heat problems. Any position I put the selector switch to besides off and the heat came out of the vents only. I found a dry rotted vacuum line under the hood, replaced it and now my heat selector is fixed. It was a ten minute job well better than freezing my toes off in this cold Wisconsin weather. Now onto suspension work.
