That tread looks just like the old Goodyear Extra Tractions. I ran those on a truck years ago (9.00-16).

I'd like to have a dream collection of 67-72 era 3/4t 4wds... 1 GMC, 1 Chevy, 1 Ford, 1 Dodge, 1 International, and 1 Jeep. Any mechanical or servicing aspects that put GM ahead of the rest when I started my life long relationship with K/20s and K2500s are non-issues now that they are precious toys not daily driven.

Re: 9.50 X 16 mud and snow skinny tire, do they make em?

How do you like the ride on the pavement? Are they wearing in well? Im getting ready to pull the trigger on some Power King Super Tractions...I know these are off road tires but it's one of my bucket list items. Tall skinny MT's. Have you noticed flat spotting if it sits?

Nice truck, nice tires....I have GMC's & Fords-

Re: 9.50 X 16 mud and snow skinny tire, do they make em?

I had the 9.00 x16 power kings ok my 87 v10 and they were horrible. Had the tire shop true them but nothing worked. They rode bad and flat spotted. I went with Firestone mt's they have a kinda vintage look and ride great.

Re: 9.50 X 16 mud and snow skinny tire, do they make em?

The tires are rough and rugged. Looked to be a bit hard to balance, not surprised. Only drove it twice so we'll see. I expect it to be rough on the road, didn't buy em for their road manners
I like em

Re: 9.50 X 16 mud and snow skinny tire, do they make em?

I love that thing! I was considering those but decided to take a step back and run a more on/off friendly tread in a shorter tire since I run mine all over the place in good weather. I got 285/75 Goodyear DuraTracs mounted on an 8" wheel. It's a narrower profile than a 33/12.50 and wider than a 255/85, perfect for an 8" rim. The truck was originally lifted 4" last summer to accommodate a set of 35/12.50-16.5 BFGs on 9.75 slots for a totally '70s wide track look. I had the 35/10s mounted on 7" Accurides in mind for a play set. Is that what wheels you have?

The tries were about $900 shipped. I got them from the blemish list on the Interco web site.

Re: 9.50 X 16 mud and snow skinny tire, do they make em?

I used Interco for my 16.5 Swampers. I really like the tires. I dont really drive the truck that much so no complaints on road noise or anything like that.

Really like your long stepper

So, does anyone make these vintage off-road tires in a radial or they all bias-ply?

Re: 9.50 X 16 mud and snow skinny tire, do they make em?

STA, Specialty Tires of America [American Made] has the best selection and prices on farm skinnys I've found..

this is the brand Coker sells [in this tire type] for double the price, yes I was quoted

here's the last price quote I had from local tire vendor for the sizes I'm looking at;

LA4B5-$148
LA4C5-$156
LB4B5-$158
LB4C5-$161

transport fronts http://www.stausaonline.com/tires/sta-super-transport/
8.75-16.5LT A D/8 LA4B5 HWY 16/32 29.80 6.75X16.5 9.00 2070 60 2350 60 37
9.50-16.5LT A D/8 LA4C5 HWY 17/32 30.60 6.75X16.5 9.30 2445 60 2780 60 41

traxxion rears http://www.stausaonline.com/tires/sta-super-traxion/
8.75-16.5LT A D/8 LB4B5 M&S 18/32 29.90 6.75X16.5 8.80 60 2070 60 2350 37
9.50-16.5LT A D/8 LB4C5 M&S 18/32 31.10 6.75X16.5 9.50 60 2445 60 2780 41

sticking with the 16.5s I currently have due to better tire selection in this type of tire.. factory 15" 8 lug snap-rings too rusty..

It's spelled Canada. The tires are in Toronto. The poster summers in Maine.

You can also by them new, but it money is a problem, I hear Weed is legal today.
