Window Adjustment

The window on the passenger door of my 71 Jimmy lacks about a 1/2" from going all the way up. I measured this 1/2" at the front channel against the vent window. I have the interior door panel off and can't see any way to make this adjustment. My doors are original doors although they appear to be 72 doors as they have the screw on the interior at the vent window. Could it be the window mechanism (the "X") has been replaced with Made in China parts? That's the only thing I see as a possibility - - - -

Re: Window Adjustment

Is the window hitting something on the way up thats stopping it?...have you disconnected the regulator to see if you can physically slide it all the way up...

Re: Window Adjustment

All I have done is remove the inner door panel. I could see no reason for the window to stop and thought I would ask before going on. I guess it's time to "go on".

Re: Window Adjustment

This is killing me because I remember having something like this happen to me but can't remember what the outcome was.

I know that the first thing that pops in my head like a 4th of July fireworks and that is the Chinese reproduction regulator.

Look at the mechanics of the regulator, as mentioned, unbolt the glass and slide it up, then look over that regulator and see if there is something that is stopping it.
