Cool Panel & Cup Holder

Hey All,

Here's a couple of pics I got from a Good (Greedy) Guy's show a little while back. A cool panel and a cool idea for a cup holder! Enjoy

Pretty nifty cup holder. It leaves the area between the seat and dash open and it appears that if you wanted you could still use that area to sit on.

Re: Cool Panel & Cup Holder

I was about to post a picture of a similar idea.

Do they just place the inserts in-between springs? or do they cut the springs?

Any ideas?

You might try forwarding this to Grumpy Old Man and see what he recommends on how to do it. He's an upholstery guy.

Re: Cool Panel & Cup Holder

I suspect the picture of the cup holders installed in line in the first picture were installed by removing 1 spring , The second picture appears to have them installed across the center section of the seat and I would think that is a full foam seat bottom and they cut thru the cover and removed some of the seat foam for the cup holders to fit .

Personally my own opinion is I wouldn't be cutting up the seat for cup holders , I foresee spills , condensation , becoming a catch all or dust/ thrash collector and I don't imagine a "Big gulp " would fit in the cup holders . It's just like the cup holders made to fit in the dash ashtray , Spills ,condensation dripping it all just looks like a mess waiting to happen , If you have to have a cup holder try one of the ones that fit on the trans tunnel in front of the seat.

Re: Cool Panel & Cup Holder

Or , you could just fabricate a small panel mounted to the bottom of the seat that uses folding hidden cup holders and doesn't tear up your seat or trash your dash .
