I like it,too. C/10 tow truck,eh? I've seen this truck before. I'm curious to see what it will go for. It's almost up to what I want for mine. It has more than just rocker rust, though. When the the truck was at Carlisle last fall it had $6,500 on it.

Yes, I thought it revealing that the owner listed it as a C-10 rather than a C-30. Just for fun I e-mailed the seller and asked if the truck could be driven to CA as is or did it need maintenance items such as tires, belts, hoses, etc. The seller said it could be driven across the country to CA as it sits. Personally I have my doubts about that, I thought, at the very least, the seller would say it needed an oil change. So I'm somewhat skeptical about the condition of the truck and the honesty of the seller. I also asked the seller if the engine in the photo was a 350 c.i.d. and he verified that it was.

I don't know what the seller has the reserve set at, but I would suggest if anyone was interested in this truck to ask the seller for some hi res photos, especially of the under carriage to determine just how much rust the truck has.

Honest sellers on EBAY are far and few in-between and if the reserve is $6.5K, I think that is a little much if the truck has more than rocker rot.

That would have been a heck of a long ride in that truck even back in '72 when the truck was new. I had a guy ask me if mine could be driven to Massachusetts from Maryland. I'm guessing it's a few hundred to 400 miles. I am sure it would make it. But,my answer was,"It could, but I wouldn't suggest it. It would be cheaper to tow. Since it has a 5.13 rear it would make for a long ride and drink as much gas as a round trip with a tow vehicle and a trailer.
Besides,I would never consider that or suggest it to anyone. I used to do that. But,in '04 I bought a truck in Colorado (not Ebay) that the seller boasted "Drive anywhere" and I was going to drive back 2,500 miles. I needed an adventure. Well, not the kind this would have been. I ended up being too busy and had it shipped. The first thing the transport driver said about it was,"That thing's a bear to load with no clutch". I went to drive it a few miles to get gas and the tires hopped like a basketball (ball joints and tie rod ends shot) so I turned around. Tried taking it slow in the other direction and it didn't want to climb the first hill (frozen calipers).
I doubt they've driven that tow truck any more than I've driven mine. I can drive it around, but never been more than 5 miles in any direction and that's what I tell people.

It's too bad prospective buyers on EBAY can't read this thread. If more sellers were honest, EBAY would not have such a bad reputation for mis-represented vehicles.

I noticed that this seller has no close-up photos whatsoever, like tire tread/depth or of the engine compartment. This truck probably looks good at a distance but won't pass mustard up close, well, at least not pass mustard for a price of $6.5K if that is what the reserve is.

I have this truck on my watch list, just because I'm curious as to what it will sell for, if it does indeed sell.

They are popping up around the northeast. This one is also listed as a C10 and is in NJ.

That EBAY tow truck you gave the link for looks like a real rust bucket and the seller's photos are really, really dark, I wonder if the seller did that on purpose? I'll answer my own question...I'm fairly sure he did. I think he wants way too much for it.

On the other hand, your tow truck is so very kewl...I can see why you snapped that one up...you are one lucky son-of-a-gun !!!!!
