Re: 1961 burb

Would love to have that truck, put an original hood on it, get it road ready and drive it every day.

Looks like a decent Burb to build. A nice uncut dash and 2 rows of original seats Does it currently have an engine and trans?

no engine or trans, and the back seat is from a 67-72 burb.

Neat! How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking?

Re: 1961 burb

I usually don't say how much I paid for something, but since I `m not going so part or sell it. I gave $1100 plus about $50 in gas . I think I got a good deal.

Re: 1961 burb

Yeah, I think $1,100 was a great deal. (I'm trying to decide if I want to try to find a suburban or just get a cheap and plentiful 4 door car for tooling around in...)

Well around here you know what the answer is. Its obvious that you need the burb. Where is the fun in a cookie cutter 4 door. But then again a 67 impala or a 64 Falcon would be cool too.

Yes I know Falcon is a F*rd but I dont care. cool is cool.

You obviously don't know the REAL answer--I actually need BOTH!

A guy called me from Cullman Ala (about 3 hrs west of you) and said he has a running driving factory 283 equipped 64-66 Chevy suburban w/ all three rows of seats for I think 4500 or something - can get you his number if interested

Re: 1961 burb

Thanks for the offer, but I already picked up a nice '68 Impala sedan for the purpose.

Re: 1961 burb

You were off a year, so it doesn't count.

I like the whole lineup from '65-'68 (and '64 besides the weird x-frame), this one was really just what happened to come up locally; a 98,000 mile car that is amazingly solid besides some floor pan rust for $880. Should look good with some shiny black paint and nice wheels/tires.

Re: 1961 burb

Woody I did not know you were wanting to build a 1960 Suburban - I have a 100% straight and solid Southern California 1960 GMC Suburban body shell and rear tailgates to sell to someone to build a dream burb from - its been soda blasted and is just sitting collecting dust but has no bondo, no dents and no rust and has NOS GM rockers professionally installed on it already. Have sliders, etc but no front end sheetmetal or steering column, or drivetrain - just the body. Has mint original ceiling tiles and is not fully soda blasted inside so 90% of the interior is still in factory silver paint. Not sure if you would have a use for it, but its here anyway. In the process of getting it cleaned out (been storing truck parts in it) to take pictures and sell it. No pics yet
