The Truck Shop.

Anyone ever deal with "the truck shop". They're out of orange California. They have a satellite in North Carolina I could drive to for body parts. I could save a small fortune on shipping. After I do my rear end. I'll then be down to body work.

I have ordered from them. Always be sure to call the NC location. The hold time is much shorter or likely no wait and they are very nice. NC doesn't stock the full catalog and some things inevitably come from CA. I have never bought sheet metal from them-and I don't know who their supplier is-so I can't speak to that. If you place your order online, my understanding is that it's coming from CA.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I've dealt with them and have had no issues with anything I bought. The fellow who runs the Charlotte store is a great guy to deal with. I mostly know them from swap meets.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I have a few times. My son lives about an hour and a half from the NC location. It is very near the Charlotte Motor Speedway. I visit him in April so I can catch a day at the Charlotte Auto Fair and I order ahead of time and pick up at their store on the way back to my son's house. Saved a good deal on shipping to my house 800 miles away - especially with the oversize items. My experiences with them have been good.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I bought a handful of parts from them at Carlisle. Mostly small parts. Seem decent.

Re: The Truck Shop.

Glad to hear I may have found a good place close enough to drive to. I seen in their catalog a lot of "counterpart" name brand. Where do they fit in on the quality level.
Thanks for the input all.

That’s a hot button on this site. My opinion is they have the best parts in the imported aftermarket. The American made aftermarket products are superior in quality but get ready to take a second mortgage to pay for them. Shop the board for used factory parts for everything first.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I have bought some stuff from them in Carlisle. Dash pad fit nice and had a metal backing not plastic. Fender emblems fit well didnt have to modify anything and are holding up well my truck is outside most of the summer.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I have had good luck with all of their products EXCEPT weatherstripping. It fits like crap. Buy that from Wes or GMC Paul.

I work about half a mile from their NC location. I believe they make a lot of their own parts.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I have bought a fair number of parts from them, both at Carlisle and in person at the North Carolina location, and have no complaints about my dealings with them. they seem to run a pretty tight ship, but as a result their prices are at the low end of the spectrum, which is similar to my mentality, so they have become my favorite source of parts. Be prepared to do a little tweaking on their sheetmetal to make it work, but that is true of most any replacement sheetmetal. Since you are within driving distance, I think it would be a good choice for you.

Re: The Truck Shop.

My Chevelle, Impala and C10s have been built from thier parts. No complaints here. Its just always a long wait to go there an pick something up.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I have used their parts and have had no issues at all. I would buy from them again without worry when I need something.

Re: The Truck Shop.

I have used them a bunch. I was living close to the CA at the time and they are all super knowledgeable and help full. The parts quality is good my only complaint is the weatherstripping faded really fast on all the window channel wipers and the fuel filler neck seal cracked within months.

Re: The Truck Shop.

Just finished a total restoration on my 70 GMC and bought most of the parts I needed from them. Much better service than LMC and a lot more knowledgeable. I would used them again in a heartbeat.

Re: The Truck Shop.

Flashed, if they are a new venture that would mean unknown also. They would be worth looking into to see what name brands they sell and pricing.

And thanks again to all that posted info.
