Talking Re: Let's see some Burbans!

I am saving now to get paint. What color? I am not sure what color yet or how im going to paint it. I like the two tone top being white. It's a big vehicle to have one color. Then I will worry about wheels. Thanks for the compliment.

Question Re: Let's see some Burbans!

This was such a nice thread, why are you guys deleting all the photos ??? Any way If somebody has this type of A/C set-up in their Burb I would really like to see some photos. From the box under the hood to where the lines run, and the full photos of the interior roof unit.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

There is no "box" under the hood for the A/C. The lines run from the compressor and evap. to the back of the burb. The lines go down the right fender along the frame to behind the trans, cross over to the left and enter the body were the "4th door" would be. They run along the qrters and then up the inside rear post to the A/C unit hanging on the roof.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

Believe it or not in the mid to late 80's that dip dyed look was the in thing, look at old Drag and circle track cars from the era . Looks like it got the old school clear too. I just bought all the Chrome door sills and the brake-booster and master out of one my neighbor is parting out that looks almost just like it, of course it is all the bottom colour !!! I love those wheels, I have almost the same ones on my '67 C20 Pick-up.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

That's funny because my GF thinks the wheels are ugly. I tried to tell her that was the style years ago. As far as the paint goes, I think its just faded. It spent a good portion of it's life under the Arizona sun.

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

SICK Burbs! good to see so many of them well taken care of. this is my 72' 350/700r4/205 I lifted it 6" and installed H2 wheels and tires. I also put in a 11.5 rear from a newer Duramax truck and regeared it with 4.56's still a work in progress but I drive the piss out of it daily

I couldn't get the image to work I'll try later

Re: Let's see some Burbans!

Here is my project. It looks pretty much as it did when I bought it, except for the $100 CraigsList wheels (from a 2001 2500 Suburban) and new tires.

Stuff you can't see that's been done (say it in Dan Akroyd's voice from Ghostbusters as he excitedly describes the ambulance he brought home to be the Ghostbusters mobile...): all new exhaust system, trailing arm bushings, brakes all around, new fuel tank, new fuel lines, alternator, fuel pump, power steering pump, manifold, carb, upper control arm bushings, ...

I've got 68 front end sheet metal to go on it and I am pushing to get it repainted (and fix all the leaky window rubber) before the rainy season.
