Re: Project MPS ll

how did you break the cam in without having a fan on the radiator? Or did you have it dynoed first? and did you get any hp numbers? Cool build btw

Re: Project MPS ll

picked up this grill the other night for 25 bucks, its off a 72 suburban has some dings on the upper drivers side and 2 or 3 broken tabs for holding the inner in but it will work for a driver i can make the inner work till i find a better one

the guy i got this from also has a white sport bumper with some patina he wants 25 bucks for it as well, needless to say im going back for it might see what hes doing with the front bumper too since hes going with chrome bumpers

also i need to get some different fenders since the ones on my truck are off a gmc one step forward two steps back, not too sad about it though as you can tell from the pics they have seen better days

Re: Project MPS ll

It looks like it's in really good shape...like rust free? What's your plan for it?

Re: Project MPS ll

been awhile since iv done some work and posted some pics, but spring is here and theres lots to do to my truck yet, I have lots of small parts to install yet but I did order new front fenders and a rear mount gas tank kit from lmc that was used on gearz, I got the fenders and grill just on test fitted right now still need some other parts first. heres some before and after pics of the front of the truck

Re: Project MPS ll

took the box off to put my fuel tank in and found more crappy body work by a previous owner, they put new cab corners on and didn't fuller weld them for starters, then fiber glassed over them to hide the gaps without sanding so it had some to adhere to so it started to come off I ended up illing it off in one big strip

so I can only imagine what the other cab corner is like not to mention the rocker panels. so now I can add cab corners to the list of butchered drip rails, and fiber glass covered cab supports im thinking im just going to find a cab that is at least a lil better shape with good floors and drip rails at least

so I need to fix that cab corner an prime the back of the cab and box before I can put the box back on

Re: Project MPS ll

got my gas tank put in and fuel line ran, just need to put clamps on fuel line, hook up the vent line for the tank, extend and hook up the wire for the sending unit/fuel gauge then put the bed back on and install my bed mount fuel filler, already drilled the hole for it in the box, oh and I need to hook up the fuel line to the fuel pump

going to be ordering new inner fenders, body mounts, inner/outer grill. hopefully find some good used bumpers and possibly order some new rims next week sometime hopefully

Re: Project MPS ll

Nice job on the tank install.
The cab corners don't look all beat up to me. Could you finish welding up the seam and go from there or are there other issues with the corners I missed.

Nice to see ya working on the truck again.

Re: Project MPS ll

thanks! its not just the cab corners its all the other body work too the worst part s the butchered drip rails from the previous owner trying to shave them, id like to get a cab that has good drip rails and good floors so we'll see what happens, and im definitely glad to finally be working on it again was a long loooong winter
