Questions

I just bought a 71 1/2 ton chevy suburban 4x4. I was wanting a 2wd but have not had much luck finding one and the price was good so I jumped on it. My Question is has anyone put a sub body on a lwb p/u frame if so where there any problems. I know there will be body mounts to move but are the frames alot different. I haven't seen any 2wd drive subs at the bone yards so no luck finding a frame but p/u frames are easy to come by thats what got me thinking about the swap. Any info or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Justin

Re: Questions

The Subs have some different bend dimentions and are longer out back. There are alot of people wanting to do the opposite,it would be cool to work out a swap. You should be able to find a rusty 2wd with a little patience. You also could change-out the front suspension and crossmembers like guys have done converting K5s to 2wd.You wouldn`t get the rear coils that way, though.

Re: Questions

So the frames are the same on the front and the 2wd x-member will bolt up to the frame? If that will work I don't mind leafs in the rear. Has anyone that has done this have some pics or suggestions.
Thanks
Justin
