Question Are 12 bolt car and 12 bolt truck backing plates the same?

I ask because I want to piece together a rear disc brake setup for my '69 C10. There are brackets out there that state they will bolt onto a 10 or 12 rear end, but I wonder if they mean trucks too.

These are an example:

I think I am going to swap to 5 lug axles and wanted to do a rear disc brake swap in the process. Thanks guys!!

No sir, those brackets are not the same as truck. IIRC, the Impala has the same housing ends as the truck rear, but the mid sized cars have a different end & bearing(bolt pattern is different for the backing plate). crazyL

Re: Are 12 bolt car and 12 bolt truck backing plates the same?

Correct. Big Car and Truck had same flange pattern for the backing plate. Big Car and Truck use larger wheel bearings than the small car (Camaro/Chevelle) The JL-8 Camaro uses the small bearings but has the large pattern which allows the use of the Corvette caliper mounts, but this is a more complicated disc swap than most. Best bet is to buy an aftermarket kit that comes with the correctly sized aftermarket parts.
