Project Old fishing truck

some small progress was made last night i bent my shifter to clear the dash in first and third and also started on some inner fenders

little more progress i took the cover off of an old externally regulated alternator and made a harness cover and made some heater vents i still need to paint the plate blue and got one door panel together

made some great progress on the truck it runs again i made a new hard line for the fuel and the pcv valve got the switch box wired in put the gas struts on the hood so it opens and holds it self up and started going together with more of the interior also cut down the seat tracks for more room... also i did not mention this earlier me the steering column is raised up just a bit and moved in one inch and the pedals are also moved in to make for a roomier and more comfortable driving experience as the average person is larger than the use to be when these trucks where new

if i remember right its about 2.5 inches that i brought the seat down it is real easy to do i just cut on the red lines that you see in the picture brought the back peace straight down and re welded it to the seat track and for the front i cut it off at the red line and replaces it with a peace of 1x3 square tubing and had to drill holes in the new peace of 1x3 and also drilled holes forward of the old holes in the rear as seen circled in red this is as much as you can go down with out getting rid of the seat track altogether and bolting the seat directly to the floor as i did with my other truck of course that one is chopped way down and that is a whole other build. also cutting down the seat tracks like this keeps the same angle on the seat to the cab and gas tank and allows you to keep the seat all the way back. but i hope this helps you out let me know if you have more questions. thanks for checking out my build

well i have a fun update i got the truck out and took it for its first drive and am happy with it to say the least got the seat recovered (need to grab pictures of that) and all the glass is in and also got the bed sides cut down but not without the truck cutting me back but i guess thats all part of the game some times and i have to give a big thanks to 69chevy lwb for all your help

due to this set back i was more in a hurry to get things done and get caught up so for that i am sorry i did not take as many pictures as i would have liked to but if you have any questions i am more that happy to answer them

Looks great man!! Love the Low buck build it not buy it stuff.

I know all about the long bed drawing blood on the conversion, I stuck a spot weld cutter into my finger and got 7 stitches out of the deal.

thanks man and yeah i just don't dig buying stuff when i have the ability to build and reuse besides i have to use all that money i save on the hospital bills ha ha and i know how that goes i broke a drill bit drilling spot welds on a core support once and it went down trough part of my hand and out at my wrist this game has its dues that's for sure

thanks man and i did make some progress on the old truck i used the leftovers of the bed to widen the inner fenders the body line is close but did need to reshape it a little and also had another tailgate to cut up and use as a filler for the raises bed floor

finally got some time to work on this old truck i sandblasted the rust off the bed side and started working on the raised wood bed floor
