1972 chevy cheyenne play in shifter column

Trying on my own to fix play in shifter lever of auto. Transmission. Dont know where to start.

Check pivot bushing at trans for shift rod.

Generally if the shifter is really sloppy it's the shaft going into to the transmission. There is a 3/4 inch nut that works loose over time that's an easy fix just have to drop the pan and re-tighten it.
