With a 6 inch lift, you really need a raised steering arm at the VERY LEAST. I am not sure if anything is available for your closed knuckle axle. You should just convert it to crossover steering right now rather than spend money on a modified stock set-up that will be marginal at best.

thank you. Cross over steering would need a power geer box? "wich is in the same location as my manual . is there a power geer box that would bolt on excisting holes?

For a 6" lift you should be able to use a dropped pitman arm (or raised steering arm) and a correct dropped draglink. You don't *have* to go crossover.

I'm thinking skyjacker might have sent the wrong draglink. See if you have a part # for it and compare it to thier website to see if it is right or not. From there you should be able to see what other steering correcton parts they have too.

You are going to spend less money getting the correct parts for your current setup than going x-over. Of course if you got the bucks and plan on wheeling the snot out of it, x-over would be best. It all depends on your plans for the use of the truck.

If you go x-over, you need a 2wd gearbox so the gear turns side to side rather than front to back. Both bolt up to the same spot.

I've never seen dropped pitman arms or raised steering arms for the closed knuckle axle. I was able to use the adjustable drop drag link on my 69. Too bad that doesn't seem to be an option for you. May be time to consider getting a newer front axle - gain you disk brakes, better turning radius and more steering adjustment options for your lift.

Duh, forgot the whole closed knuckle axle part. I'm betting they sent one for a more common 73/87 truck. No real good options for that old axle
